My first time here today the food was amazing. Fresh cooked to order. The waiter was super sweet and made sure we didnt want or need for anything. I can't wait to come back soon.
I highly recommend just going for their daily specials, it's never a let down and always delicious! And the meatloaf is made in house.
Good food. Excellent service. Great coffee. Quiet so you can have a conversation.
The staff members were friendly and I enjoyed the atmosphere! I came with a big group which made it a little difficult to find seating, but they were able to accommodate us. Definitely a great place for a few people looking for diner food :)
Nothing special. Service is hit or miss, food is typical processed food from The Restaurant Depot. I can't understand why it's popular with the community. It could be a thousand times better. The restrooms are disgusting and seemingly never cleaned after 1978, avoid them unless you want to become very ill.
Staff and Owners have a great relationship with the community and regular clientele. Service is always prompt, friendly and precise. A true gem and one of the best fixtures in Northside
I especially love the lunches here at blue jay. They are truly an old style Diner with great breakfasts and lunches.
1st time there. Had a western omlete, it was bigger than I thought it would be and was pretty good for the price. Service wasn't bad either.
It's okay, at best. My opinion. The server was rude but not to those of white skin. THAT ALONE was enough to not want to go back.
Blue Jay is a wonderful greasy spoon, probably not redecorated since The Brady Bunch was on TV. It tends to get packed on Saturday mornings, so be prepared for a bit of a wait and a wonderful breakfast. Be sure to leave room for dessert- they are freshly made and delicious. The prices are more than reasonable, so be sure to give Blue Jay a try!
Food is good, and service is good as well.
The place was clean. The food was great. Service was nice. They serve breakfast all day. Quaint little place tucked away on Hamilton Ave. Parking not so cool. Hours are only until 3:30 PM.
Friendly people, very good food.
My favorite spot to eat in Northside. Lots of choice (without being overwhelming). SUPER friendly staff, but not overbearing. Love it, love it. Just go. Must love “old-school” places however.. prices are also reasonable. The only downsides are that they close early sometimes and the are popular so you don’t want to go at rush times.Oh, and I almost forgot to mention one of my favorite things at the Blue Jay: the wood-style salad bowls (straight from my mom's 1970's kitchen). I'd be curious to know how many other #localguides had these exact bowls growing up?
Classic breakfast and lunch in a lovely neighborhood. Friendly staff and charming decorations. I can't imagine much has changed here since 1967.
Love it. Hasn't changed much since I was a kid, 20yrs ago. Grilled cheese, chocolate milk. Now I get goetta and eggs. Goetta is great here.
Good food when u got the toast eggs ut was delicious savoring I loved it this is an 5 star one of my second favorite restaurant but on doordash it cost way too much but it was worth it wasn't it 🤩 😍 PERIODT.
Great service and an extensive variety of breakfast choices. Recommende!
Best diner around. Perfectly cooked eggs and great daily lunch specias. Love it!
Service was great and food was excellent love going there for breakfast.
I'm giving this five stars and an excellent review with a little bit of hesitation. This little Northside gem is hidden away In Plain Sight and I don't want a bunch of people discovering its there. They do things with goetta that are just magical.
Great service with delicious brunch food at reasonable prices.
Nice familiar place to get good food. Feels like a shirt you like to wear kinda place.
I really just love this place... nothing but gratitude that this place exists! Thank you Blue Jays!!
This busy restaurant is closed on Saturdays and is not open for suppers. The prices are inexpensive and though their pancakes are not my favorite the other items on the menu are very good and plentiful. It is a mom and pop restaurant but they do take credit cards.
Listen this is my heaven. My hungover sloppy sleepy heaven
Nostalgic feel and fantastic breakfast.
Cozy, old school neighborhood restaurant. Decent prices, super friendly, great selection on menu, generally good food. Diverse customers. Booths and counter service. Books and games for kids. Closed on Sundays. Retro feel. Worth a visit.
Food was great as always except for that daggone Tony A trying to feed feed me unleaded coffee LMAO no as always a great experience and the baklava is amazing...
Nice selection of Hometown Favorites, sandwiches, and of course breakfast all day long. Small homey feel. Be ready to wait at busy times. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Find their daily specials on the Blackboard when you enter.
I like neighborhood diners. This is a throwback to my childhood and I love that it is good food for a great price with hardworking owner s and staff. The place is not trendy and that makes it a place of belonging for anyone.
Service a bit slow today though not crowded. Usually don't have a problem and everything is great!
After being quarantined for 3 months, this was the first restaurant we sat down in. They have taken precautions with barriers and are keeping the place clean. It was so delicious! Best burger I'd had in a long time! Our little grandson ate every bite of his grilled cheese. Great homey feel and friendly staff!
Always great food and service
Great food, local atmosphere. Wonderful place to frequent now that they have reopened for diners
Excellent food and service
Good food at a fair price.
Good plate lunch s and breakfast
Love this place. I'm the 3rd generation of family that goes to Blue Jays.
Great Northside tradition for breakfast/lunch. Portions are more than adequate. With an omelet and meat on the side, you may very well take some home. I always do. Friendly, courteous staff. They ALL hustle to serve you. Beware: hard to get a seat at lunchtime. Well worth the effort. Perusing the menu, you really do feel as a "kid in a candy factory".
I live in Middletown ohio Drive here Twice a month and IT'S GREAT. LOVE THE FOOD AND STAFFS VERY NICE AND CLEAN. I MUST GO
Good food, good service, good prices
Great food great price
Been here over 30yrs. Love the customers. Love the employees, food and my boss. We just celebrated our 50th anniversary July 31.
The special is usually something homemade. The meatballs are just like mine from home! Delicious! But I always miss it. They usually have meatballs on every other Wednesday. The BLT with fried egg was so good. They are nice to my little ones too. She made them cute pancakes.
If you're looking for a classic American diner, this place is for you. Breakfast all day, comfort food and great pies and coffee. Service is friendly and quick although during rush hours it understandably slows down a bit. Homey, not fancy.
Good food. Service is a little slow but the atmosphere is great. A traditional old school diner.
Very decent food for the price. The vibe was really chill and warm, so that was the lionshare of the appeal.
Find food at a good price with friendly service
Little hole in the wall gem with weak coffee and great service. We went for breakfast and the food was what we expected. Nothing awesome, but definitely good. I would definitely recommend this place. Nice and quiet and friendly.
